The location is absolutely serene, peaceful, and beautiful, and the house is cozy, comfortable, and large enough for a while family. Catherine was always very kind, and quick to help with any questions we had. Louisburgh was only a few minutes away and had everything we needed. "Catherine's and Richard's cottage is the perfect place to stay in Mayo. It's a lovely house with three very nice bedrooms, a huge kitchen, and very comfortable living room. The house has everything you need. There are gorgeous views to both sides, and you can see the Atlantic as well as the hills no matter where you sit. Emlagh Beach is only a couple of minutes away and great for swimming or for walking along the coastline. There are plenty of opportunities for great day trips, e.g., Inishturk or a bike tour with Smooth Cruzin in Louisburgh. Catherine offers a lot of great recommendations, and communication with her is super fast and pleasant. She also was very helpful when we repeatedly had to postpone our booking due to the pandemic. This part of Ireland and this particular house are not only worth a visit, but certainly a place to come back to." August 2022

 

"If I could give Catherine six or seven stars, I would. First, the house is spacious and immaculately clean. It feels a bit luxurious, as there are two bathrooms, and for instance the kitchen is very well stocked. The 360-degree views are stunning, and within minutes one can be walking down a long beach; or just a little bit in another direction, enjoy waves crashing on the rocks, or have a nice amble down a country lane. Second, communications and information on the house (and appliances, etc.) are excellent. Third, we faced a bit of a complication with a semi-urgent package that was supposed to reach us, and Catherine went far out of her way to help us with the matter that need not have been a concern at all. She is a kind and resourceful person." June 2022

"Thanks so much for letting us avail of Gaoth na Mara again. We had a super time and have some unforgettable memories made in the last week. We saw dolphins in Emlagh and a seal in Accony. Ate delicious Killary mussels in the Misunderstood Heron out past Leenane and kayaked in the harbour. We also did the Lost Valley tour with Gerry Bourke and his lovely family which was a real highlight. Although we are just back, I was wondering about availability for next July?" July 2021

"The Beach cottage was a home away from home for myself and my family. It is a stone's throw away from a stunning sandy beach ideal for walks, jogging, and surfing. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 weeks here and highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from it all and enjoy the best of Ireland's west coast. The cottage is well equipped and has everything you will need during your stay. We dined and shopped in nearby Westport which has an excellent selection of restaurants and pubs.
